I have been creating and officiating unique celebrations for many years. It is an honour to work with people at such a significant and important milestone.

I feel I am honest, authentic, quick-witted, genuine, and open.  I pride myself on being able to get the best out of people using my coaching skills during meetings with couples and families to get to the heart of their stories to create a ceremony that encapsulates and represents their journey or the life of the departed. 

Each ceremony is completely unique as I love putting in the time and energy to give the couple or family what they want.

After my father passed away, I decided to become a Celebrant. We had one for his funeral. At that point, I had never heard of them! I was really disappointed with the initial service he wrote as it was all ‘cut and paste’ and not at all personal to my father. He even made a mistake when he delivered the service – unforgiveable at such an important event. 

What an honour to have that role, be that voice, and tell that story. It made me think about the skills you would need to be a good Celebrant – great people skills, excellent listener, creative, good at writing and telling stories, excellent public speaker, adaptable, caring and compassionate, meticulous, organised, and a genuine interest in people and their lives… All of these I had in abundance honed by my life skills and the careers I have had. Many times I had been asked by my friends to speak at weddings, civil partnerships, and funerals – clearly, I had a talent for it! So I undertook a professional qualification and began my new journey as an Independent Celebrant!
